Christmas Day 2009

ALL Hector wanted for Christmas was an aeroplane book that had tracks inside it. He'd seen it in the store for months and could never go by without stopping to check it out, so no surprise that it was the delight of his Christmas stash!

Poppa Tom celebrated his birthday on Christmas Day, it was a little bit sad and different without Nana Joan there, but the sun shone and he managed to blow all his candles out in one go.

Watercan was a practical gift and Nanny's garden got a good water for a few days.

What is Poppa doing on Hector's bike!

This is the best pic of the 3 of us that we mananged to get!

Aunty Kylie totally went over board with Hector's presents but he thought it was great.

These are all from the Eyre Family Christmas. Having only two younger cousins HJM thought this was pretty fantastic. Was a bit weird to see my own child hanging out at a Christmas gathering the same way and at the same place we did as kids.

End of Year Catch Up!

Here are a few random pics from the last months of 2009.

Swing ball with Poppa and cuddles with Nanny

Sunscreening Dad! This whistle that Marg sent over started a whole new experience with wind instruments.

Chris arrived in Wanganui a week after us - Hector was so happy to see him.

Blowing the horn that neither Brad or I could growing up - what can I say other than he must have a lot of puff!

We caught up with Mary, Niah and young Connor before Christmas. Hector was all about playing the bigger older cousin.

This is from way back in November but I just found it again.... I was so proud of this effort. Its the first time H has drawn something that was instantly recognisable... ITS A SUN! And if you look closely you can see all the letters of his name he is written.

Poppa knee time.

Big excitement the day we arrived in Wanganui. A parcel from Marg and Wal in Australia was waiting at the post office, AND we got to see our favourite postie at the same time!

This was the last day of kindy. A magician managed to keep the kids quiet and entertained for over half an hour and then it was full on into the sugar laden food. After at least 5 times the normal daily intake I realised the possible consequences of the sugar and I was about to drop him off at Chris's office for an hour while I went to the spa! Oops! Turned out perfect though, Chris had it under control with a walk up Shortland Street......(its very steep!)

Oh and my poor baby went from happy swimmer to hurt one after the float bottle he was hanging on to came loose and hit his chin, he was very brave.

Birkenhead Christmas Parade

We had a whole new experience this year - watching the local parade. Last year we were all aboard the Highbury Creche Float and had spent weeks getting it ready for the big event. It was rather nice to sit back and see what hard work lots of other people had put into it this year.

Bob the Builder

It would be fair to say that not a lot of clothes have been worn lately - way too hot!

Aunty Joanne's Birthday

Joanne turned 50 this month and there were a whole lot of Macbeth's around to celebrate. We spent the weekend in Hamilton, played ten pin bowling and dinned at the casino afterwards. The prego lady won! Tee He!

Hector flawed us with being able to sit at the dining table for two and a half hours.... well past his bed time - he just loves being the big boy. We saw the huge Christmas tree change all sorts of colours on our short walk home.
