Labour Weekend

Our Labour weekend consisted mainly of creating a new decking...mostly in the sunshine but a little bit in the rain. Hector did a pretty fantastic job of entertaining himself for most of it, which is a rare thing, but he did it, so Chris treated him to a game of mini putt on Sunday afternoon. He could play this allllll day and still not get bored of it.

Hector's First Day at Kindy!

Our baby started kindy today. He's growing up before our eyes and there is no stopping it. When we got the kindy call last week my initial reaction was 'he's not ready'....but that really translated as I'm not ready...he LOVED every minute of it. I'd planned to stay for the whole session but he ushered me away half an hour into it.

By chance Hector's little creche buddy Logan started on the same day too!

This is the amount of stress they both went through when we left...

Have I ever seen H look this shy? They were introduced to the class by Louise their teacher.

Sleeping and Bubbles

I haven't taken a photo of H sleeping for quite a while, so this was a super opportunity!

SWIM!

Oh, there are just some moments when you think your child is just perfect......well I didn't think this morning was going to turn out to be one of those moments today. By chance I managed to get H into a swim lesson this term and I just knew it would take him a little bit of time to warm up to the idea of another pool. So we went along bright and early this morning (a few bribes may have been offered) and we acclimitised to the lesson pool. Totally didn't want to get in to start with but I bit my tounge and let him go at his own pace. Before I knew it he was throwing himself at Amy the instructor and doing all sorts of things I'd not managed to do with him during our weekly swims! He loved it. I was so proud. Tee hee.

Can't see a lot here but he jumped off the floating thing into the water. Peer pressure is great isn't it!

This was H's favourite part, high fiving the instructor and they think they've made her flip over backwards. Priceless!

Taupo Weekend

A last minute decision had us driving down to Taupo on Friday night. Heavy rain and snow were forecast, didn't see a lot of either really, and Sunday was the perfect Central Plateau day. As we've learnt we can't be in Taupo without playing mini golf, so while the boys were out real golfing Sarah and I took Hector to put his stuff. Not without fanfare he got a hole in one on the 18th earning himself a free round and the lowest kiddie score of the day. You don't count restarts do you?!?!

A bunch of crazies!

Wellington for the Night

It seemed a little crazy, fly to the capital for one night, but that's all we could manage with the hectic time schedule we have these days! We got to meet new Rosie J-R and Hector had a blast with Ella and Fynn. The 'jumpoline' was a hit, shame our back yard can't accommodate one.

Are these cats in trouble or what by that look on his face! All I can say is they are very tolerant!

Beautiful wee Rosie. What an angel she is, I think she may have cried ONCE in the whole time we were there. Not to mention her mum is total super-mom, she should write a book!

Roast Chicken for dinner - no complaints there, see Rosie in the background just chillin.

Story time with Dave.

Jump Jump Jump Jump Jump Jump.

Te Papa was Thursday's event.

This is the heart of a blue whale, as Ella would tell you, its the size of a small vehicle.

Diggin for Dinos.

Watersfalls are really loud apparently.

October Begins!

Just a few random pics from the start of the month.

This I find particularly cute....that helment might come in handy one day.

Humpty Dumpty came to light when the rain got the better of us one day. It does rain here every single day.

Hector's favourite dinner: Salmon, Rice Mountains (his terminology), Olives, Avocado and Brocolli. YUM YUM YUM YUM YUM!
