MELBOURNE!

For the first time ever my ever capable husband spent the weekend looking after Hector while my mum and I went to Melbourne. Chris and Hector had a fabulous time going to the zoo and Kelly Taltons and the driving range, they didn't even know I was gone! Mum and I had a fabulous time too. Did a little damage to the retail sector but came back with just the one pair of shoes so that showed ample constraint on my part I thought.

Had to have the typical picture each on the bridge to Southbank with Flinders Station to our left.

Bridge Road was where most of the shopping happened - who doesn't love a bargain. And this time it was nice to not have to haul a mountain buggy in and out of the trams.

The best friand I've ever had combined with a sneaky hot chocolate (of the skinny variety as they say so it all equalled out). How gorgeous is my mama amongst these foxgloves.

The big surprise for the weekend (even for us) was the Cirque du Soleil show Dralion. Human bodies were never meant to do such things and we spent most of the night dropping our jaws. It was incredible. The story behind these pics cracked us up.....we asked a nice family man to get a shot of us, well the poor guy couldn't get the camera to work well so he thought, we ended up with 16 photos of us in front of this banner.

Some fun sculptures at Docklands on the way to the circus. Oh and one of the Melbourne Central shot tower just for good measure.

My new bag (orange) co-ordinated perfectly with this Lamborghini we saw parked roadside.... never found the owner. We stayed just off China Town so we were right in the heart of Asian cuisine. Proud to say we had Thai, Mongolian, Japanese, and Malaysian.

The most unsuspecting place impressed us. Hudson coffee joints are all around Melbourne and happen to have lovely coffee and the best fruit and yogurt we've ever tasted.

All good things must come to an end however - so a final shot of our hotel and a bit of culture in the form of an aboriginal sketching.
