Birthdays and Holidays!

It's nice to come home but we really didn't want our holiday to end. Having Chris around all the time was the best birthday present Hector got!

The bike had its first outing after we found the right helment to fit H's head. The effort that was required to make the bike go was a little awol though.

Aunty Sarah and Uncle Brad were top of the pops for most of the time we were in Taupo but especially on Friday when Hector had his very first sleep over 'party'. I thought there may be a few fragile moments, but ah, no not one. In fact he bluntly told Chris and I to leave! We dropped back around to the house about 10 the next morning and he hardly blinked when we came in! Brunch at L'Arte was fabulous and he finally warmed back up to us after a fluffy!

Friday we took a last minute road trip to Napier. It was beautiful there, warm, calm and laid back. Trainworld was the main reason we were there and it did not dissapoint. A few tears were had when it was time to leave however.

Rotorua was the place to be on Thursday....in particular the Luge! Oh my goodness, we couldn't get enough. Like anything new with a 3 year old things like this can go either way, but much to our delight Hector was well into it.

oh how cute is this guy! The helment just makes me melt!

Mini golf AGAIN after the luge and Chris tried his hand at Bathhurst in this simulated race car.

A.C. Baths was lovely in the chilly Taupo climate.

Wednesday was a big day. We waited and watched the Aratiatia control gates open, thats a LOT of water man! Then the honey hive for a lesson on bees before we topped off the day with mini golf. Hector's new obsession!

A fuzzy family photo in the Taupo House!

Hector spent his 3rd birthday on the farm. We mustered 600 sheep with Uncle Neil!

Singing Happy Birthday while Popa Carl provides some close supervision.

Neil and Jay came to the party in style in their fabulous Erskine. H wouldn't go for a ride but was happy to have a photo with Popa Carl.

Happy birthdays alround for the Macbeth bunch. Nana Collins turned 70 and Hector 3.

Loving this shot of Hector and Niah boogeying the night away! And this is only some of the grandchildren of Nana Collins...some are missing.
Nana Collins had a lovely birthday party, even though it didn't really turn out the surpise it was intended to be.

Time has flown! We went to Omaha for the weekend at the end of July
